Were the enormous cloud canvases of Ian Fisher (recent Redline Gallery fellow) an influence?
Hi Thomas! No- unfortunately, I haven’t been in to Redline recently (must rectify!). I like shooting clouds as a way to practice composition without getting wrapped up in subject; there’s no “thing” to get bogged down in.
Cloud composition, hmmm… Fisher told me his clouds were essentially subjectless as well. More contemplative abstraction than anythhing. “No contextual there, there.” Look forward to seeing your stuff at Junction Box on 1st Friday.
