Naming your artwork is hard. Thankfully, artificial intelligence is here to help in the form of a website that generates random abstract art titles. I was challenged by Anita Buzzy-Prentiss, a dance photographer friend out of Pittsburgh, PA, to use this website to come up with a theme for a creative session. The result is “Roman Catholic Deconstruction.”
When it comes to dance sessions, I take a great amount of pride in capturing your best natural features, your strengths and your essence. My approach to photography is relationship-oriented; I love to get to know my clients before puting them in front of the lens. I want to hear all about your story – both personal and professional – so I can tell it in light and color. My images have been described as dramatic, vibrant, and creative.
We will work together to create dance images that say not only something meaningful about you, but that will help you meet your goals. With over 10 years of experience capturing dance, I will help you craft a series of images that truly say something about who you are as a dancer. I am 100% here to help you create a set of dream images for your personal marketing, branding and auditions.
When it comes to dance sessions, I take a great amount of pride in capturing your best natural features, your strengths and your essence. We want to choose locations that really show off who you are and add to your portfolio!
More and more, dance companies and programs are using Instagram to make choices about which dancers to invite- let’s make your image portfolio shine with some dreamy, vibrant location images!
“I enjoy shooting with Amanda because of her attention to details. She works to make sure you look your best and makes sure that the angles really show everything off well.”
Audition season can be stressful! My goal is to help prepare you with audition pictures you can’t wait to show off. We’ll work together to highlight your strengths- to find your best turn out, your nicest standing foot, and your longest lines. From contemporary to classical, we’ll work together to get you closer to your dreams!
Having Amanda Tipton work with my daughter, it was clear that she had an excellent eye for making a dancer look their best, and extensive knowledge about ballet to understand and guide toward the best pictures to show off form and ability. This wasn’t simply having someone out posing and taking pictures, it was a level of expertise in guiding our dancer to look, feel, and be her best for the beautiful photographs that resulted, all with a calm, friendly demeanor. Thank you!
Cody Schaff, Father of Cypress Schaff from Denver Academy of Ballet
Whether it’s for an audition, an author bio, your website, or other self promotion, you need a great head shot! Your head shot shows off your friendliness, your competence, and your personality. It lets others know who has created the great work they’re viewing, and encourages them to want to work with you too!
Your organization may also need group images to show off your teams or your performers. My goal is to make those group shots express not only who your organization is, but what you are about. To communicate the feel, or the aesthetic of your work and your organization.
Performance Stills Capture Both The Drama and the History of Your Organization
My goal when taking performance stills is always to give you an accurate archive of your show, as well as a wealth of images for marketing and social media. My images bring out the excitement of your work, capturing how it felt to be in the audience, and encouraging your patrons to buy their tickets for your next show.
Wonderbound has been working with photographer Amanda Tipton for the past decade, and in that time, she has captured the essence of our work. Through her keen eye, Amanda is able to entrance the viewer and welcome them into an experience that is at once dynamic and ethereal. She is truly a gem: a brilliant photographer and a most thoughtful, kind, generous, and adventurous collaborator.
Marketing & development images are vital to every Arts organization
Your audiences and your donors, both current and potential, interact with your organization through your imagery. Whether through pieces for your mailings, images of people having fun at your gala, or pictures of your patrons attending your events, these pictures get people excited about you!
Presenting images with a wide range of different patrons also means that your potential audience will also see themselves at your events.
Social media, too, now insists on not just seeing finished pieces, but your patrons want a behind-the-scenes access. Social media insists on honesty, consistency of brand and, frankly, on continually new content. I specialize in creating images that fit those needs so that your social media can always be fresh and relevant.
Central City Opera has had the pleasure of working with Amanda Tipton for several years. Her understanding of the performing arts has elevated Central City Opera’s production photography to the next level. She demonstrates incredible versatility in her photography work which is crucial for nonprofit organizations. From performances to special events to head shots and candid shots – Amanda always exceeds our expectations.
